What is 10 x 10?

10 x 10 is a free project development workshop. We meet every month at 7pm at Gertrudes Brown Couch, 30 Gertrude St Fitzroy in Melbourne. Filmmakers can screen up to 10 minutes of their non-fiction works-in-progress and receive 10 minutes of directed feedback in a supportive environment. It's a great opportunity to see some fantastic work, and also to be a part of the Melbourne independent film community.

We present up to 4 projects at our monthly screenings. If you would like to screen please contact Benj and Gen at documentary3000@gmail.com The 10 x 10 format was created by www.doculink.org.

DATE CHANGE - Monday April 12

Hello!

March 10 x 10 was a great night, with lots of familiar and new faces filling up the room. 3 filmmakers screened their projects and received lots of feedback from our vocal audience. Thanks to Claire Jager from Screen Australia who came to talk about this years AIDC (Australian International Documentary Conference) held in Adelaide in February.

April 10 x 10 will be held on MONDAY April 12 (not our usual Tuesday night) so please note that change.

Would you like to screen? Send us an email documentary3000@gmail.com asap.

All you need to do is answer these questions in no more than 1 paragraph please.

1)  Describe your project.
2) What do you want to show? (i.e, a trailer/key scene/whole short film/sequence/raw footage etc)
3) What do you hope to gain from showing your project at this stage?

We invite people to send through the names of any great documentaries they would like to recommend to others. Likewise, if you know any great festivals, articles, websites, resources, etc, send them through.

I recently found this Doco blog aptly titled

There is a page with 10 Docs to look out for in 2010.
Happy writing, shooting, editing, watching...
